Canadian national wanted over alleged abuse cases in Thailand and Cambodia was arrested by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. During the operation, authorities also rescued three male minors from the 73-year-old suspect's house.

According to a report by John Consulta on Unang Balita, members of the BI Fugitive Search Unit raided the residence after receiving information about the suspect's whereabouts. The operation led to the arrest of the foreign national.
When authorities entered the house, they found three male minors inside. The Bureau of Immigration said one of the minors was found in the suspect's bedroom.
BI Fugitive Search Unit Acting Chief Rendel Ryan Sy said, "Nung pinasok nga natin yung bahay niya sa area ng Sta. Rosa, Laguna, tumambad sa atin yung mga menor de edad sa kanyang kwarto kung saan yung isa ngang bata doon ay nakahiga pa sa kama katabi niya."

The Bureau of Immigration said the Canadian is wanted in connection with alleged abuse cases in Thailand and Cambodia. The agency also said he had previously faced a case in Cambodia.
Sy added, "May mga dati rin siyang kaso sa Thailand and Cambodia kung saan sinasabi sa Cambodia ay convicted siya for a child s*xual offense."
The BI also disclosed that the suspect is the subject of an Interpol Green Notice. However, authorities obtained his passport only in 2018, by which time he was already in the Philippines.
In addition to the cases abroad, the Bureau of Immigration said the Canadian had also been reported twice in the Philippines over alleged abuse involving male minors.

Sy also said, "Kino-consider natin siya na threat sa ating public safety and public interest, especially to children."
The Canadian is now being held at the immigration detention facility. As of writing, he has not issued any statement regarding his arrest or the allegations against him.
