KAMI learned that new mom Korina, 54 years old, and doting dad Mar, 61 years old, are new parents to twins, Pepe and Pilar.
According to ABS-CBN, their twins were conceived via in vitro fertilization through a surrogate mother.
This is possible by gathering eggs from the mother then fertilize them with sperm from the father.
After this, they will place the embryo into the uterus of a gestational surrogate.
Based on the website called Surrogate.com, the estimated cost of gestational surrogacy range from $75,000 to $150,000, or somewhere in between P3.9 million to P7.8 million.
The total cost includes the living expenses and compensation of the surrogate mother, medical expenses, lawyer's fees and agency fees.
