Former beauty queen and actress Lara Quigaman opened up about a terrifying scare after receiving an email about the flight her mother was on.

"Kagabi kasi, my mom was supposed to arrive from Manila, papunta dito sa Vancouver but then around the time that she was supposed to land, may na-receive akong email from the airlines na na-divert yung flight."

According to Lara, the reason for the flight being diverted was not stated which further made her worry:

"Hindi sinabi yung reason, and of course I searched and then nakita ko because of an emergency so kinabahan talaga ako. Sobra akong natatakot. That was around 5 or 6PM, and then up until 7:30, wala akong nare-receive na message from my mom," she continued.

The actress then went on to share that she immediately hopped online to search what had happened:

"Syempre nag-search up ako ng kung anu-ano and I saw na yun nga, nagkaroon daw ng problema, and then the plane had to go down from 30,000 feet to 10,000 feet so sobra na akong kinakabahan, natatakot na ako, as in hindi na talaga ako mapakali na to the point na naiiyak na talaga ako," she said.

Seeing how worried she was, her husband, Marco Alcaraz, asked her to pray, which she did afterward:

"Marco reminded me na, 'Ba't ka matatakot? Ba't ka nagwo-worry? Come on, let's pray.' So Marco prayed with me and I was reminded na instead of praying right away, ang ginawa ko, nag-search pa ako, so lalo lang akong nag-panic," she confessed, touching her followers.

Reflecting on her faith, she reminded herself not to let panic take over, choosing instead to lift her worries to God and focus on finding inner peace during the tense wait for updates from her mother on the flight.

"Just a few minutes after that prayer, my mom messaged and sabi niya nga na ngayon lang daw siya, doon lang daw siya nagka-access sa wifi kaya hindi siya naka-message agad, na she's fine, everyone was fine, although it was a scary time kasi raw nagbaba na yung mga oxygen mask and a lot of people were panicking and scared, and she also hyperventilated. But I'm so thankful that she is safe, that she is okay," she revealed to her fans and followers.
