Joy Barcoma made her return to Unang Hirit on Tuesday, September 8, ending a period of silence that had left viewers and the show’s hosts waiting for her to speak.

The television personality once again joined the Unang Hirit team as a special host-mate. Her return immediately drew attention, particularly because of her striking appearance in white clothing and shades.

Her fellow hosts also played up the anticipation surrounding her comeback.

"Marami ngang nag-aabang dahil matapos ang kanyang pananahimik, eh magsasalita na siya live. Walang iba kundi si 'Jusa' Joy Barcoma," said Kaloy Tingcungco.

Sharia Diaz then added to the suspense by directly calling on Joy to address what had been left unsaid.

"Jusa, oras na para magsalita ka na. Ano ba talaga 'yung totoo?" Shaira added.

However, just as Joy finally began speaking, an unexpected technical issue interrupted the moment. Her audio suddenly disappeared, making it appear as though she had been muted while she was live on the program.

The brief audio problem added another layer of drama to her much-awaited return before her microphone eventually came back.

"... at nalaman niyo ang rason sa aking pananahimik. Mga Kapuso, nagbabalik po ako ngayong umaga!" Jusa continued as the mic turned back on.

Rather than dwelling on the unexpected interruption, Joy continued with her appearance and gave viewers a lighthearted statement.

"May ibubulong ako sa inyong kasabihin for today. For today's bidyo, mga Kapuso, naniniwala po ako na ang tsismis ay parang kanin, mas masarap 'pag mainit-init!"

Her return ultimately combined anticipation, an unexpected on-air moment, and Joy’s trademark playful energy.

Despite her departure, the beauty queen and TV host said she remains thankful whenever she gets invited to appear on different podcasts. Joy clarified that she did not personally determine how often she would be featured on the show. The “Dogshow Divas” team, meanwhile, expressed their appreciation for Joy and stressed that protecting her peace and overall well-being should remain a priority.
