A jewelry shop in General Mariano Alvarez, Cavite lost more than P26 million worth of jewelry and cash after six armed men carried out a robbery that was caught on CCTV.

The incident happened on Monday morning at a jewelry store in Barangay San Gabriel. Based on a report aired on Unang Balita, CCTV footage showed a man wearing a white shirt and a cap entering the shop alone. He appeared to look at the displayed jewelry and even spoke with one of the staff members as if he were a customer.

Moments later, the same man opened the door and signaled five other men to come inside. The group then declared a hold-up, with one of the suspects pointing a gun at the employees.

The armed men entered the secured area where two staff members were stationed. Out of fear, the employees followed the suspects' orders and stayed down while the robbers collected the jewelry and placed the items inside their bags. They also took cash kept inside the store before smashing the glass door and fleeing on motorcycles.

According to one of the employees, the suspects managed to take around P25 million worth of jewelry and approximately P1 million in cash.

The employee recalled that the first suspect acted like a legitimate customer before the robbery unfolded.

"Parang customer po talaga 'yung dating niya."

The witness also shared how the armed suspects threatened those inside the shop.

"May dalawa po doon sa mga suspect natin na may dalang baril. Tinutukan po 'yung mga kasamahan ko po. Tapos sabi po niya kung ayaw nilang madamay dumapa sila."

A barangay kagawad who responded to the scene said the store's glass door had already been shattered by the time he arrived. Witnesses also reported seeing several men rushing out of the establishment before escaping.

Police officers from the General Mariano Alvarez Municipal Police Station immediately responded to the incident. Authorities said they have already identified the license plates of the motorcycles used during the escape and are continuing their backtracking and manhunt operations to identify and locate all the suspects.

Meanwhile, the jewelry shop is appealing for the public's help in solving the case.

"Handa po kaming magpabuya ng P100,000 kung sino man makapagturo sa mga taong ito."

Authorities continue to investigate the robbery as efforts to arrest the suspects remain ongoing.

In other news, a tragic altercation in Bocaue resulted in the death of a 45-year-old woman after she was reportedly attacked by her younger half-brother. The grim discovery occurred when a nearby resident noticed remains partially exposed from a shallow grave in the area. Investigators uncovered forensic evidence and bloodstains within the residence that the suspect occupied with the deceased. Local police are currently conducting a deeper inquiry to determine the specific reasons behind this violent act.
