A motorcycle rider, who was reportedly working as a call center agent, died after being thrown off a bridge following a crash in Pandacan, Manila on Sunday morning.

The fatal accident happened at around 7:00 a.m. on the Nagtahan Bridge Link One 7, according to a report aired on GTV News "Balitanghali" on Monday.

Based on the initial investigation, authorities believe the rider lost control of the motorcycle while crossing the bridge. The vehicle allegedly struck the bridge's gutter, causing the victim to be thrown forward and over the protective railing before falling to the ground below.

“Lumagpas sa railing. Nakainom daw po yata ewan ko kung umover-take ba o ano, hindi siguro nakabawi, dumiretso sa railing,” said Gerry Yares, executive officer of Barangay 864.

uthorities have yet to confirm whether alcohol consumption or an overtaking maneuver directly contributed to the crash, as the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.

Emergency responders immediately brought the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment. However, despite efforts to save him, doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The tragic incident has also drawn attention to a previous fatal accident that occurred at the same bridge earlier this year.

In April, a delivery rider also lost his life after figuring in an accident at the Nagtahan Bridge. Similar to the latest incident, the rider fell from the bridge and landed on a beer warehouse below.

Authorities continue to investigate Sunday's crash to determine its exact cause. The latest fatality has once again raised concerns about road safety and the need for motorists to exercise extra caution while driving, especially when crossing elevated roadways and bridges.

Meanwhile, a 37-year-old man from Bokod was arrested after he was accused of killing his 74-year-old mother. The shocking incident was uncovered when a resident noticed what appeared to be human remains partially sticking out of a shallow grave near their community. Authorities immediately launched an investigation and later discovered bloodstains and other forensic evidence inside the house where the suspect and the victim had been living together. Police are continuing to gather evidence and interview witnesses as they work to determine the motive behind the alleged crime and build the case against the suspect.
