FEU was formed as a result of a merger in 1934. Far Eastern College, which was founded in 1919, had been a liberal arts professional college. In 1934, the Far Eastern University Institute of law was established after the union with IABF. Two years later, an Institute of Technology was already fully operational with Francisco Santana as the department’s dean.

In 1970, the existing for-profit Medicine Institute, Medical Technology School, FEU Hospital, and all the Students’ Health Service Clinics were altered and converted to operate on a non-profit and non-stock basis.
