The incident happened after he tried to withdraw around 19,000 rupees, or roughly ₱12,000, from his brother’s account. The sibling reportedly died due to illness earlier this year.
According to a report by Abante TNT, the man was asked to submit documents such as a death certificate before he could claim the money. However, he did not understand the process.
Because of this confusion, he chose to exhume his brother’s body and bring it to the bank as proof of death.

The case was also featured on Unang Balita, where details of the incident were discussed, including how the misunderstanding led to the shocking act.
After the situation reached local authorities, they stepped in to assist the man in processing the necessary documents so he could legally access the funds.
