Former actress Angelica Jones has finally confirmed the identity of the politician she once wished she had given a chance, revealing that Senate President Sherwin “Win” Gatchalian was the man who previously pursued her.

Angelica made the admission during her appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda on September 1, following the buzz generated by her recent interview on the Your Honor podcast.

During the program's “Fast Talk” segment, host Boy Abunda asked Angelica which politician she wished she had said yes to in the past.

“Si Senator Sherwin Gatchalian,” the former actress answered.

Angelica, however, clarified that Gatchalian's courtship happened many years ago, when she was still relatively young.

“Long, long time ago na po, bata pa po ako. When I was 22, siguro naging boyfriend ko muna po si former consular Bobby Yan. Mas una ko pong naging boyfriend si Consular Bobby Yan when I was 21,” she said.

According to Angelica, her mother played a major role in how her relationships and dating life unfolded during that period. She recalled being closely watched because her mother was extremely protective of her, even accompanying her during dates.

This included the occasions when she met both former Consular Bobby Yan and Gatchalian.

Angelica said she and the current Senate President did have the opportunity to go out together for dinner, but their relationship never progressed into something more serious because she was rarely allowed to go out independently.

“Hindi po kami dumating sa point na 'yun kasi nga po that time, sobrang overprotective po 'yung mom ko. Hindi po ako nakakalabas mag-isa. Nakalabas po kami, nagkaroon ng dinner date, pero kasama ko po ang mama ko,” Angelica explained.

Eventually, Angelica did not give Gatchalian an answer, and the politician was later linked to other people.

Despite their paths moving in different directions, Angelica previously admitted on the Your Honor podcast that she now regrets not accepting the senator's courtship.

Her revelation has since drawn attention because both Angelica and Gatchalian remain single, adding another layer of public interest to the former actress's candid recollection of the relationship that never developed.

Meanwhile, Angelica Jones admitted that she still feels disappointed about what happened with content creator Sachzna Laparan. According to Angelica, she was allegedly not told that the Laguna shoot would push through or that her song “Miss Flawless” would be included in the project. She also recalled that Sachzna did not speak to her even after they crossed paths at an awards ceremony. Despite her disappointment, Angelica said she would be open to accepting an apology should Sachzna decide to approach her.
