The operation, carried out in Iligan City, involved agents from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), along with personnel from the Marawi City Social Welfare and Development Office and the Department of Justice (DOJ) Action Center. The rescue followed reports that the children, aged two and five, were not being returned to their mother.
