Two male suspects were arrested after allegedly stealing three cellphones from sleeping construction workers at a construction site in Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City.

According to a report by Unang Balita, CCTV footage showed a man slowly climbing the wall of the construction site shortly after 4 a.m. on Tuesday. Another man followed him inside moments later.
The suspect wearing a white sweatshirt allegedly went to the barracks where the construction workers were sleeping. His companion, who was seen with a black shirt covering his head, reportedly served as a lookout.
Three cellphones worth around P25,000 in total were taken during the incident.

One of the workers later woke up and looked for his phone. He noticed that only the charger was left behind.
“Then paggising niya, hinanap niya yung cellphone niya, wala na. Nakita niya charger na lang,” a police officer said in the news report.
The worker then woke up two of his companions. They also found that their cellphones were missing while their chargers were still there.
The construction workers reported the incident to their supervisor. They later reviewed the CCTV footage and confirmed that two men had entered the site.
Police eventually arrested the 20-year-old suspect who was allegedly seen wearing the white sweatshirt in the video.
The second suspect, who was wearing a black shirt, was later identified as a 16-year-old minor.
According to authorities, a witness recognized one of the suspects because of a tattoo on his neck. The witness also reportedly knew him as a neighbor.
Police went to the suspect's house with the witness. Authorities said this also helped them locate the minor's residence, leading to the arrest of both suspects.
A robbery complaint was filed against the two.
The stolen cellphones were no longer recovered because they had reportedly already been sold for P6,500.
The 20-year-old suspect admitted his involvement in the incident. When asked why he committed the crime, he said he needed money for their daily needs.
“Kaya naman po nagagawa dahil kailangan lang po... walang pangkain sa araw-araw,” he said.
When asked what happened to the stolen phones, he replied, “Binenta po.”
Meanwhile, the minor was turned over to the Social Services Development Department.
Police said the 16-year-old was included in the inquest after authorities determined that there was discernment. He was later returned to the SSDD for intervention because of his age.

According to a report on GMA News' Unang Balita, several men were seen arguing along the roadside before the confrontation escalated into a fistfight. Barangay tanods who were on patrol aboard a tricycle happened to pass by and immediately crossed the street to stop the commotion.
