The witness said the rider was unable to move away when the plant and the posts fell.

People nearby could not immediately approach and assist the victim because electrical wires were also present in the area. They sought help from barangay officials due to the possible danger posed by the wires.

Members of the fire and rescue team of Barangay San Roque responded to the scene. The victim was later transported to Rizal Provincial Hospital.

One of the responders confirmed that two posts fell during the incident.

“Dalawang poste po ’yung tumba,” the responder said in the report.

Based on the initial information received by the rescue team, the rider no longer showed signs of life when he was taken from the site.

Meralco confirmed that one of the structures that collapsed was an electrical post belonging to the company. It extended its condolences and said it had already coordinated with the rider’s bereaved family.
