A man died after he was stabbed while sleeping on a tricycle in Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard, Pasay City, on Tuesday afternoon.

In a recent report on Unang Hirit's "Unang Balita," the victim and his live-in partner were taking some rest when the latter's ex-boyfriend attacked them.

The victim died on the spot while the woman, who immediately ran away from the suspect, did not sustain any injury.

The police suspect that jealousy might have been the motive of the suspect.

"Nagkahiwalay sila [the woman and the suspect] nito lang taong ito, noong April. Sabi nga na itong ating suspect, pinagbabantaan itong ating witness ngayon na sino mang maging karelasyon niya ay papatayin niya," PCol. Samuel Pabonita, Chief of Police, Pasay.

The manhunt operation continues to arrest the suspect, who fled on a motorcycle after the stabbing.

Authorities added that the victim, his live-in partner, and the suspect are residents of Quiapo, Manila.

The suspect behind the killing of an Australian and two Filipinas at a hotel in Tagaytay City has voluntarily surrendered. According to a report by Balitanghali, the suspect surrendered to the chairman of Barangay Toong and to Tuy, Batangas Mayor Jey Cerrado. The 31-year-old suspect is a former employee of the hotel and allegedly took revenge against the hotel’s management for his termination.
