According to a GMA Regional TV One North Central Luzon report aired Friday, the victim had been at the popular waterfall with companions when the incident occurred.
The man had reportedly been warned by one of his companions to avoid the deeper portion of the falls. However, his companions later realized that he had somehow made his way into the deep area.
They reportedly failed to notice when the victim entered the more dangerous portion of the waterfall, and the situation quickly turned into a tragedy.

A search operation was immediately carried out after the man went missing. Rescuers and those searching for him spent more than an hour looking for his whereabouts.
The victim was eventually found, but he was already lifeless by the time he was located.
Details surrounding how exactly the man ended up in the deeper section of Towing Falls were not provided in the report. It was also not immediately clear whether the victim encountered difficulties while swimming or was unable to return to a shallower area.
Following the fatal incident, authorities temporarily closed Towing Falls to the public.
