“Especially dahil iba 'yung time difference doon e. Like 'pag nandu'n ako, napipilitan akong mag-Ingles the whole time. Nakakapagod mag-Ingles the whole time, 'di ba? Ta's pag-uuwi ako galing work, tulog na 'yung mga anak ko, wala akong makausap, so yeah, it can be lonely,” said Dolly.

Despite those challenges, the actress shared that she consciously chooses to focus on gratitude rather than dwell on loneliness. She believes that the opportunities entrusted to her should not be overshadowed by negative emotions and considers her achievements as blessings that deserve to be embraced with optimism.

Aside from receiving international recognition, Dolly also became a member of the Actors Branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), the organization behind the Oscars. However, she admitted that her first reaction upon receiving the invitation was disbelief.

“Nu'ng lumabas 'yung 'Triangle of Sadness,' may natanggap akong email inviting me to become a member of the actors branch of the AMPAS. Tapos ang una kong ginawa, i-screenshot ko 'yung email, sinend ko kay Adam, ta's sabi ko, 'Totoo ba 'to? Scam ba 'to?' sabi niya, 'No, that's real They're inviting you,'” Dolly recalled.

The actress described the invitation as a tremendous honor, saying that having Filipino voices represented within the Academy is meaningful beyond her personal achievement.

“Bukod sa importante para sa 'kin na marinig 'yung boses natin bilang artist, importante rin marinig 'yung boses natin bilang Pilipino. Kasi minority tayo, e. I will always say this, many times. Minority tayo within a minority group.”

Dolly added that she is pleased more Filipinos are now becoming part of the organization and hopes their representation continues to grow in the years ahead.

“May right tayong bumoto, at may right tayong magsalita kung ano sa tingin natin ang karapat-dapat, kung sino ang ma-nominate. Kaya diligent ako pagdating diyan, Sir Boy. Every time na award season, pinapanood ko talaga as much as possible,” she said.

Her remarks offered a glimpse into the sacrifices behind international success while highlighting her commitment to ensuring that Filipino voices remain visible and influential on one of the world's biggest stages for cinema.
