Lolit Solis took to Instagram and made a lengthy post about how Marian Rivera has actually overshadowed Miss Universe candidates.

According to Manay Lolit, even the issues that were thrown Marian's way helped in bringing her more attention.
"Tutoo naman na na overshadow ni Marian Rivera ang mga candidates ng Miss Universe dahil sa sobrang ingay ng publicity ibinigay sa kanya. Actually, nakatulong pa ang mga basher dahil sa dami ng ipinukol nilang issue sa pagkakapili kay Marian Rivera lalo pa itong umingay at napansin ng lahat."
She then said that Marian, whether the issue is positive or negative, always gets the attention of the public.

"Kaya naman lalo pa siyang kinaiinggitan ng marami. Imagine mo, hindi napag-usapan ang mga candidates, ang pinag usapan si Marian Rivera kaya naging curious pang lalo sa kanya pati international market,
"Kaloka talaga dahil habang gusto ng lahat na i put down siya, heto at lalo siyang nagni ningning," Lolit said.

Some netizens criticized the organization’s choice, citing among others, the alleged deficiency of Marian with the English language. Nay Lolit said having an alleged deficiency with the English language should not be an issue because Marian, after all, can speak and understand English.
Marian Rivera brought her entire glam team to Israel to aid her in preparing for the Miss Universe pageant. The actress was chosen as one of the judges for the prestigious pageant. She has 10 luggage with her and her glam team has brought 20 outfits for the event. According to one of the members of the glam team, they already have an idea of what makeup and outfit to provide for Marian.
