Jennylyn Mercado's interview from 2015 has found its way back into the spotlight in recent times.

The clip, taken from a 2015 episode of the morning talk show Kris TV, began making the rounds on social media following Patrick Garcia’s controversial tell-all interview with Ogie Diaz in 2026.

In the video, host Kris Aquino gently asked Jennylyn about navigating heartbreak while carrying her firstborn child, Alex Jazz:

"Nag-break kayo diba nung buntis ka?" she asked to which Jennylyn answered, "Yes... Medyo ano, emotional ako nun at tsaka depressed ako talaga."

When asked how soon she had to return to showbiz after giving birth via cesarean section, Jennylyn revealed that she had to provide for her baby right away:

"Eight months. CS ako eh... Nagpahinga lang ako saglit, tapos balik na agad ako ng work."

Explaining why it took eight months, she noted that her surgical wound reopened months into recovery:

"'Yung sugat ko, kasi bumukas pa siya eh after mga four months, nag-pop out yung [sugat]..."

Kris then pointed out that unlike families with lots of siblings and cousins around, Jennylyn did not have a large household to share the load:

"Who helps you in raising Jazz? Kasi you're alone, wala kang kapatid... May pinsan ba na close?" Jennylyn softly answered, "Wala rin." When Kris asked if she truly did it all by herself, the actress confirmed: "Ako lang talaga, Miss Kris. Mahirap, sobra."

"Kasi sa totoo lang Miss Kris, halos hindi na talaga ako nakakauwi. Uuwi ako para maligo, tapos alis ulit ako." To keep from being separated from Jazz during long working hours, Jennylyn found ways to keep him close: "Sinasama ko lang siya sa mga live shows ko, tapos pag may mga out of town ako, sinasama ko na rin para lang makasama ko siya."

Kris praised her hard work, validating that taking on nonstop projects was an act of maternal love:

"It doesn't make you a bad parent if you grab all these opportunities, kasi sine-secure mo lang yung kinabukasan."
