The Kapuso actress shared the surprising story during the September 30 episode of Chika Cart, where she appeared alongside hosts Baninay Bautista, Donita Nose, and Jeff Fernando.
The conversation centered on Viva Hot Babes and their upcoming reunion concert, Bulaklak: The Viva Hot Babes Reunion Concert. The group’s reunion recently became a topic of discussion after comparisons were made with the SexBomb Girls, who held their own successful reunion concert, Get Get Aw!.
Some members of Viva Hot Babes, including Maui Taylor and Andrea del Rosario, previously clarified during their press conference that they were not jealous of the SexBomb Girls. Instead, they said they were inspired by the group.

“We were inspired by the SexBomb [Girls],” Maui said.
Andrea also explained that the idea for their reunion concert had already been planned for quite some time.
“This was an idea way, way back—first quarter of this year, kung hindi ako nagkakamali,” Andrea said.
As the discussion continued, the hosts brought up a story involving Halili and asked about reports that she had nearly become part of Viva Hot Babes.
Halili then recalled what happened when she was brought to Viva years ago.
“Kasi po dati, dinala po ako sa Viva tapos pinauwi po ako ni Boss Vic kasi raw po 17 pa lang ako. Tapos hindi ko na-gets, 'yun pala, sexy pala kasi kaya ako pinauwi,” the actress shared.
At the time, Halili said she did not fully understand why she had been sent home. She later realized that her age was connected to the nature of the group and the type of work involved.
Although she did not become part of Viva Hot Babes, Halili looked at the experience as something that eventually led her toward another opportunity.
She said the situation turned out to be a good redirection because she eventually became part of StarStruck, the reality talent competition that helped launch her showbiz career.
“Okay lang naman kasi sa StarStruck naman ako napunta,” Halili said.
The hosts also praised Halili for maintaining her beauty and séx appeal throughout her career. Her previous recognition as FHM Magazine’s Top 1 Séxiest Woman for consecutive years was brought up during the conversation.
Halili proudly recalled that she remained high on the magazine’s list for four years, including two years at the top spot.
“Two lang po kasi 'yung pangatlo, kulang. Dalawang [taong] number one, isang [taong] number two, and isang [taong] number three,” she said.
Her revelation offered a glimpse into an earlier chapter of her career and highlighted how a missed opportunity eventually led her toward a different path in Philippine showbiz.
Meanwhile, Viva Hot Babes continues to prepare for its reunion concert, with members emphasizing that their return had been planned long before the recent SexBomb Girls reunion.
Katrina Halili is a prominent Filipina actress and model who gained widespread fame as the first ultimate female survivor of the reality talent search StarStruck. She has since built a remarkable career renowned for her compelling portrayals of iconic villain roles in numerous hit television dramas.
In another report, Katrina Halili shared a photo of a beautiful bouquet of blue and red roses she received from Kris Lawrence, whom she fondly called “Mr. B.” Despite Kris being in Bohol, Katrina appreciated the thoughtful gesture and tagged the singer in her post as they shared the sweet moment with their followers.
Meanwhile, Katrina Halili and Kris Lawrence confirmed that they have rekindled their relationship after separating in 2014. Their daughter, Katie, shared that her parents officially got back together at midnight on September 13. Kris also recalled the emotional moment when they decided to give their relationship another chance, while Katrina thanked their supporters and hinted that their family still has more moments to share.
