Ryza Cenon shared her candid preference when asked whether she would choose to play a protagonist or antagonist role.

During her interview on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Tuesday, September 29, Boy Abunda asked the actress which role she would choose if given the option between a bida and a kontrabida.

Ryza did not hesitate to choose the antagonist role, explaining that she finds it more enjoyable to portray a kontrabida despite it being different from her personality.

“Kontrabida. Mas nag-e-enjoy po akong gawin ang kontrabida. Kahit wala po sa personality ko, pero mas napaglalaruan ko po ang kontrabida,” Ryza said.

She then explained why she finds playing a protagonist less exciting, noting that she feels the character often has a limited emotional range.

“'Yung bida po kasi, for me lang 'to, medyo boring po for me 'yung bida. lisa lang po kasi 'yung emosyon niya, like kailangan mong magpaawa, umiyak, magmukhang maganda,” she added.

Ryza Cenon is a Filipina performer whose career has spanned acting, dancing, modeling, and painting. She rose to prominence after being named the Ultimate Female Survivor of “StarStruck Season 2,” GMA Network’s reality talent competition. Since then, she has continued to build her career in the entertainment industry while also pursuing her passion for the arts. Cenon became a mother when she welcomed her son, Night, on October 31, 2020. She is currently in a relationship with cinematographer Miguel Antonio Cruz, whom she first met in 2019. The couple has since been raising their son together while continuing their respective careers.

In the same interview, Ryza opened up about experiencing what she described as power tripping involving some big-name actors. She recalled instances when physical actions done to her during scenes felt real. Despite these experiences, Ryza said she never retaliated against those involved, choosing instead to cry after being subjected to such treatment.

Recently, Ryza also shared that she finally sought medical attention for the persistent pain in her right shoulder. She revealed that doctors diagnosed her with a tendon tear and compression affecting the outer part of her shoulder, prompting her to undergo platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment in hopes of easing the discomfort and helping her return to her normal routine. She also encouraged those dealing with persistent pain to seek proper medical evaluation and consult a healthcare professional to determine whether PRP treatment could be suitable for them.
