Initial police findings showed that the incident happened in a school hallway shortly before classes were about to begin. The victim was reportedly attacked by a Grade 10 student. The attack was so sudden, which left the victim without a chance to defend himself.

The older student suffered a stab wound to the chest and was immediately taken to a hospital for medical attention. The victim remained under medical care as of Thursday.

Despite the school having a security guard who uses a metal detector at the entrance, the weapon reportedly went undetected. Investigators said the younger student allegedly concealed the knife inside their underwear while entering the school.

Police did not give an on-record interview regarding the incident. However, initial information indicated that a conflict between the two groups associated with the students may have led to the confrontation.

Authorities are continuing to determine the circumstances that preceded the stabbing, including what happened between the two groups before the students encountered each other inside the school.

The younger student is currently under the custody of the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) Office.

The involved students are also undergoing the appropriate intervention as authorities address the incident.

The stabbing has raised questions about how the weapon was able to enter the school despite the security measures in place at the campus entrance. Authorities are expected to further examine the circumstances surrounding the incident as the investigation continues.
