A motorcycle rider died after crashing into a truck that was parked along the side of a national highway in Binalonan, Pangasinan.

According to a report by CJ Torida on GMA Regional TV One North Central Luzon on Friday, the truck had been pulled over by its driver along the highway before the collision.
Initial police findings indicated that the truck driver stopped on the roadside because he intended to take a rest. The circumstances that led to the motorcycle striking the parked vehicle, however, remain under investigation.
The impact left the motorcycle rider with severe injuries, prompting authorities and other responders to rush him to a nearby hospital.

Despite efforts to save him, the rider did not survive the injuries he sustained in the crash.
The fatal incident has since prompted an investigation by authorities to establish exactly how the collision happened and determine the circumstances surrounding the parked truck and the motorcycle's approach.

The rider's family and the truck driver were also still being sought for statements regarding the incident, according to the report.
