During a recent statement shared on Monday, April 27, the “It’s Showtime” host openly expressed that he continues to support the possibility of Robredo returning to the national political scene someday.

“I’m still rooting for Leni,” Vice Ganda said.

His remarks came days after Robredo stated on April 21, 2026, that she had already made up her mind about not pursuing any national position in the next election cycle.

“Sigurado na ako sa sarili ko na hindi ako magna-national,” the Naga City mayor previously said.

Robredo also shared that it would be more likely for her to seek reelection as mayor of Naga City for a second term instead of aiming for a national office again.

Despite this, Vice Ganda pointed out that many public servants eventually change their decisions because of the growing call from the people and their continued desire to serve.

“Well let’s see. Marami namang nagsasabing kung sila silang, hindi na sila tatakbo. Pero dahil sa clamor at kagustuhan nilang makapagsilbi,” he explained.

The comedian also emphasized that the decision to run for president is not solely a personal matter, saying leadership involves responsibility toward the public.

“Kasi ang desisyon ng pagtakbo, ng pagiging Pangulo, hindi naman ‘yan desisyon para sa sarili mo, e,” he stated.

Vice Ganda added that some leaders eventually realize that public service goes beyond personal preference or comfort.
