She questioned the status of the country’s flood control projects and the billions of pesos allocated for them.
“Kayo po, kamusta na kaya ang flood control? Ang bilyon bilyong pondo?”
Ivana also stressed that the plight of Filipinos affected by flooding should not be forgotten.
“Habang may Pilipinong lumulubog sa baha…. Sorry, hindi kami makakalimot," aniya.
She further urged the public not to allow other issues to distract from concerns that she considers more important.
“Wag tayo gumawa ng ibang issue para matakpan ang mga pinaka importanteng issue.”
Ivana ended her message by emphasizing the need for concrete action and solutions to address the flooding situation.
Her statement came amid reports about action taken by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) against an online gaming company connected to her cellphone giveaway.
On Monday, August 24, the gaming company was reportedly fined ₱1 million over a promotional campaign featuring Ivana’s giveaway of 100 high-end smartphones. PAGCOR also ordered the promotion to be stopped.
During a House Committee on Appropriations hearing on PAGCOR’s proposed 2027 budget on the same day, Kamanggagawa Party-list Rep. Elijah “Eli” San Fernando cited Ivana’s cellphone giveaway as an example of influencer promotional activities that may require closer monitoring.
According to reports, participants in the giveaway were required to like or follow the online gaming platform’s social media page.
PAGCOR Chairperson and CEO Alejandro Tengco said the ₱1 million penalty was imposed because the promotional activity did not secure the agency’s required approval. He also warned that the company could face heavier penalties, suspension, and eventually cancellation of its license if another violation occurs.
Ivana previously went viral after showing herself purchasing 100 iPhone 17 units for her followers. The phones were reportedly worth more than ₱4 million in total.
The giveaway was part of Ivana’s celebration after reaching 50 million Facebook followers. However, some netizens criticized the promotion because of its connection to online gámbling.
As of the latest reports, it remains unclear whether Ivana herself will be called to a hearing or face a sanction over her role as an endorser of online gámbling.
