- In response to that, Rhian said in an interview, "I was insulted, na parang how can you jump to such a conclusion. But some people gawain yun"

Rhian Ramos addressed allegations against her and her boyfriend, Sam Verzosa, regarding their participation in the 2024 New York City Marathon.

Atty. Estrella "Star" Elamparo claimed in a November 9 column that "Ramos and Verzosa showed no entries for the 18.6, 20, and 21.7 miles of the race," which could mean "they did not pass through the mile markers."

In response, Rhian said in an interview, "I was insulted, like how can you jump to such a conclusion? But some people do that."

On the other hand, Atty. Elamparo, in a follow-up column, clarified that she didn't accuse Ramos and Verzosa of cheating.

"Finally, in my last sentence I said: This column will be open to any response from Mr. Verzosa and Ms. Ramos. Verily, I did not state as a matter of fact that the couple had cheated but only raised the possibility based on publicly available information," she wrote.

While Ramos decided not to take legal action about it, her boyfriend, Sam Verzosa, thought otherwise.

"Marami nasaktan. Kung ako lang, OK lang. Pero mahal ko sa buhay— dinamay niya si Rhian. Kailangan ko pagtangol. Ayaw niya na lang pansinin, pero nasaktan si Rhian," Verzosa said in an interview after filing a cyber libel case.

During the charity event “Driven to Heal,” the TV host and businessman said he hopes that his initiative would inspire others to also help the less fortunate.
