Ogie Diaz shared his thoughts on the ongoing conflict involving Carlos Yulo, his family, and his partner Chloe San Jose, raising a question about Carlos’ position on Chloe’s confrontations with his mother and grandmother.

“Just wondering, may consent ba ni Carlos Yulo yung pakikipagbardagulan ni Chloie sa nanay at lola nito?”
Ogie also wondered if Carlos had tried to stop Chloe but she simply refused to back down when she believed she was right.
“O sinasabihan din naman niya ito, pero ayaw lang talaga paawat ni Ate Gurl na ‘kahit matanda ka pa, wala akong pakialam basta nasa katwiran ako.’”

He then considered another possibility: that Carlos might simply be choosing not to interfere or had actually given Chloe his consent.
“Pero what if deadma lang o may consent nga ni Caloy?”
Despite raising the question, Ogie said he did not want to judge the couple because he did not know everything that happened inside Carlos’ family.
“Oh, well! Ayoko silang husgahan, dahil di ko naman alam ang pinagdaanan ni Caloy talaga sa bahay nila noon bukod sa claim niyang inubos ng nanay niya ang savings niya.”
The controversy also prompted Ogie to reflect on his own responsibilities as a parent. He said he wants to prepare for his and his wife’s future instead of becoming financially dependent on their children.
“Pero isa lang ang malinaw sa akin ngayon: kailangan kong pag-ipunan ang pagtanda namin ni misis.”
For Ogie, helping his children finish school and establish stable careers would already be an important foundation for their future.
“Yung mapagtapos sila lahat ng pag-aaral, makita silang may disente at maayos na trabaho, sapat na siguro yon para maging sandata nila sa pagsabak sa buhay.”
He also shared his belief that children should have the freedom to build their own lives once they have partners.
“Kung mag-aasawa sila o makikipag-live in sila, lagi kong sinasabi ito — doon sila sa partner nila, alis sila sa bahay ko, para walang nakikialam sa diskarte nila sa pagbuo ng mundo nila.”
Ogie further reminded parents that their children can change once they enter relationships, making their choice of partner an important influence.
“Lagi nyo ring tatandaan: kahit pa gaano kaganda o kagago ang pagpapalaki natin sa ating mga anak, nagbabago yan kapag may partner na sila in life.”
He ended by noting that a partner’s influence can sometimes even change a parent’s behavior.
“Na ikaw mismong salbaheng magulang eh tumino dahil sa impluwensiya ng partner ng anak mo.”
