Actress-comedian Tuesday Vargas has expressed her support for ABS-CBN employees affected by the network’s latest retrenchment program, recalling the important role many of them played throughout her more than two-decade career.

In a Facebook post on September 18, Tuesday shared a heartfelt message for her fellow Kapamilyas, particularly those who had been part of her journey since she began working as an artist.
“Sa aking mga kapamilya sa ❤️💚💙 Lubos puso po akong nakiki-isa sa 230 nawalan ng trabaho noong nakaraan,” she wrote.
Tuesday reflected on the many television and entertainment projects she worked on alongside ABS-CBN employees, emphasizing that their connection went beyond professional collaborations.

“Marami po sa inyo ay naging kasama ko sa aking pagsisimula bilang artista at naka-buo po tayo ng maraming magagandang palabas. Pero higit pa doon, marami po tayon [mga] alaala na nabuo rin na napaka ganda.”
She then recalled several career milestones that she experienced with people from the network.
“Unang abroad ko bilang performer ay kayo ang aking kasama, unang teleserye, unang album. Sa mahigit na dalawang dekadang yun ay masasabi kong nahubog ng network ang aking husay pero kayong mga tao sa loob ang tunay na gumawa ng magic na yun.”
The actress-comedian also expressed her gratitude for the dedication of the employees and reassured them that their professional journeys could cross again in future productions.
“Salamat po sa pagod, puyat, pagmamahal at dedikasyon. Hindi ito ang pagtatapos, magkikita po tayo sa iba pang produksyon.”
“Salamat po sa serbisyo at gabayan nawa kayo ng Diyos sa susunod na chapter. Kapit lang po tayo,” she continued.
Tuesday drew from her own experiences of overcoming setbacks as she encouraged the affected employees to stay hopeful during the difficult period.
“Ako man na minsan nadapa naka-bangon din. Tayo rin po ay makaka lampas dito. Padayon kapamilya,” she ended.
Throughout her career, Tuesday has appeared in various ABS-CBN television and film projects, including Star Cinema movies such as “Here Comes the Bride,” “Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo,” “Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo,” and “Mr. Suave.”
Her message came shortly after ABS-CBN announced a new retrenchment program involving around 200 employees, equivalent to approximately 7% of its workforce.
The company said these conditions had contributed to weaker advertising and consumer spending.
Against this backdrop, Tuesday’s message focused on the personal connections she formed with the people behind the network’s productions and her hope that the affected employees would find new opportunities in the next chapter of their careers.

Beyond her prominent career in mainstream comedy and hosting—including stints as a TV host and talent show judge—she has also showcased her acting range in acclaimed independent and commercial films, earning recognition such as a Golden Screen Award.

In a recent report related to school violence, Tuesday Vargas spoke about the deadly shooting at San Jose National High School in Tacloban City, where three students were killed and around 20 others were reportedly injured. The actress called on the public to look beyond punishment and consider the deeper factors that may contribute to violence among young people. She highlighted the need for stronger anti-bullying measures and improved mental health support in schools. Tuesday stressed that addressing these concerns could be part of efforts to prevent similar incidents involving students.
