Suzette Doctolero aired her opinion on the controversial DepEd illustration of farmers, which showed a farmer and his family dressed in tattered clothing.
Her comment came after the agency went viral on social media because of the said illustration.
The GMA-writer, on her part, took to Twitter and said that the illustration is correct because farmers' lives are miserable as they only get to have new shirts if it is a giveaway during an election or when hardware stores would hand out free shirts.
Philstar reported some of the comments made by netizens on the said illustration.
My Grandfather was a farmer and so are my cousins and uncles/aunts. I rarely see them dressed in rags. All of them made professional kids, us included. DepEd has a really big cut in each year's budget but can't hire a decent editor or proofreader.
