A businessman was found dead inside a warehouse in Santa Cruz, Manila, after he was allegedly shot and robbed of more than P200,000 in cash.

The incident was reported in a news segment of Unang Balita, where authorities shared initial details of the case. According to barangay officials, the victim sustained gunshot wounds and was discovered inside a warehouse he had been renting.
The businessman was reportedly involved in buying and selling cellphone board components. Based on information from local officials, his companions became concerned after finding the warehouse room open.

"Nakita lang nung mga kasamahan niya dati ng mga kwan, naka-open yung kwarto at nakita niya naka-timbuwang na yung tao," a barangay representative said in the report.

Authorities were unable to immediately release copies of CCTV footage because the recordings had already been turned over to investigators. However, officials said the footage allegedly showed the suspect entering and leaving the building alone.
According to descriptions cited in the report, the gunman was wearing a cap, face mask, and a red shirt. He was also carrying a sack bag when he left the area.
"Naka-sumbrero, naka-face mask, naka-red t-shirt siya, may sako bag at gumawi po siya rito sa Santa Cruz. Doon po siya sumakay ng paalis na tricycle," the barangay official said.
While police have yet to face the media regarding the case, initial information obtained by the news program indicated that robbery is being considered the primary motive behind the crime.
Investigators believe the bag seen with the suspect in the CCTV footage may have belonged to the victim. The bag reportedly contained more than P200,000 in cash.
Authorities also learned that before the shooting, the businessman had been carrying the same bag while conducting transactions related to cellphone parts purchases.
Police are now conducting follow-up operations and backtracking efforts to identify and locate the suspect. Investigators are also working to determine the circumstances that led to the fatal shooting and whether additional individuals may have been involved.
The case remains under investigation as authorities continue gathering evidence and reviewing available footage that could help lead to the arrest of the gunman.
