Authorities in General Santos City are searching for a man who was caught on CCTV allegedly stealing from different establishments by pretending to be a worker sent for repairs and installations.

The suspect’s latest victim was a cellphone parts store in Barangay Dadiangas East, where he reportedly introduced himself as a glass installer. According to a report by JP Soriano on “24 Oras Weekend,” the man acted as though he was taking measurements inside the shop to avoid suspicion.
A female store employee recalled how the suspect even asked for assistance while carrying out his act.
“Nagsukat-sukat ng salamin pero ang kaniyang pinapasulat, PH, PY, at humingi siya ng P3,800,” says the store attendant.

The incident happened on Tuesday afternoon, and the suspect allegedly managed to steal P3,700 from the employee before leaving the area.
Police investigators later discovered that the same man had allegedly targeted another business just days earlier. CCTV footage from an eatery in Barangay Dadiangas South reportedly showed the suspect entering the establishment and redirecting one of the security cameras to avoid being recorded.
However, another CCTV camera installed in the kitchen captured the suspect as he allegedly took nearly P2,000 from the store’s earnings.
A service crew member said the man introduced himself as a plumber supposedly hired by the owner of the eatery.
he suspect also reportedly borrowed a pen from the employee and asked for P4,600 to buy materials needed for the supposed repair work. The staff refused to hand over any money.
Police authorities are now pursuing the suspect and are urging business owners to remain vigilant against individuals using similar schemes to gain access to establishments.
In other news, a 45-year-old woman in Bocaue lost her life after she was allegedly attacked by her younger half-brother following a dispute over fare money. Authorities said the victim sustained multiple fatal injuries during the incident and was declared dead before reaching the hospital. The 33-year-old suspect was later arrested and is expected to face a murder complaint.
Meanwhile, in Bokod, police arrested a 37-year-old man in connection with the alleged killing of his 74-year-old mother. The case came to light after a concerned resident spotted human remains partially exposed from a shallow grave nearby. Investigators later recovered suspected bloodstains and other pieces of forensic evidence inside the home shared by the suspect and the victim. Authorities continue to investigate the motive behind the crime.
