Two men were arrested after allegedly robbing a lotto outlet in Brgy. Bagbag, Novaliches, Quezon City, according to a report by GMA News.

In the report by James Agustin on “Unang Balita,” CCTV footage showed a man walking near the area while allegedly serving as a lookout during the robbery. Police said the incident supposedly happened before dawn and was only discovered the following morning by an employee of the outlet.

The employee said that upon arriving for work, he noticed that the establishment’s padlock had been forcibly damaged. When he entered the outlet, he discovered that the lotto betting machine was already missing.

Authorities said they conducted backtracking and follow-up operations to identify the suspects. A 33-year-old man believed to have acted as the lookout was later arrested by operatives from the Novaliches Police Station. In a separate operation, a 25-year-old man accused of taking the betting machine was also apprehended.

Police recovered the lotto betting machine worth P24,000, although it had already been damaged by the time it was retrieved. Authorities are still searching for another suspect who allegedly also served as a lookout during the robbery.

According to police, the 33-year-old suspect had previously faced cases involving theft and illegal possession of a bladed weapon. Meanwhile, the 25-year-old suspect allegedly admitted his involvement in the robbery.

In an interview aired in the report, the suspect admitted taking the equipment from inside the lotto outlet. He also claimed that he had already handed over the stolen item to others.

The two arrested men will face robbery charges as the police continue their investigation into the incident. Authorities also said the CCTV footage played a crucial role in identifying the suspects and tracking down possible accomplices.
