Pops Fernandez showed her admiration for Lea Salonga as she shared a special moment connected to the theater icon’s Hollywood Walk of Fame milestone.

In an Instagram post, Pops uploaded photos from the occasion and openly admitted that she had a “fangirl moment” while celebrating Lea’s achievement.
“My fangirl moment during @msleasalonga Walk of Fame,” she wrote.
The singer also congratulated Lea once again and tagged the Manila International Film Festival in her post.

“Congratulations again, Lea,” Pops added, keeping her message short and warm.
Her post came as Lea celebrated one of the biggest milestones of her long international career.
The Broadway star officially received the 2,855th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on September 4, 2026. She was honored in the Live Performance category and became the first Filipina to receive a star on the famous landmark.
The ceremony was held in Hollywood in front of the Pantages Theatre. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce earlier described Lea as a trailblazer whose career has inspired audiences around the world.
Lea has built an international career across theater, music, film, and television. She is widely known for her Tony Award-winning performance as Kim in Miss Saigon and for providing the singing voices of Princess Jasmine in Disney’s Aladdin and the title character in Mulan.
The Walk of Fame recognition also carried a special connection to the Manila International Film Festival. The organization previously announced that it had nominated Lea for consideration by the Hollywood Walk of Fame Committee.
Aside from the star ceremony, Lea is also set to receive the Icon Award at the Manila International Film Festival’s Closing Night Awards Gala on September 6.
