An 11-year-old girl was also hurt during the accident. She was reportedly near the area when the pickup truck hit the stalls.

Aside from the fruit stands, a parked motorcycle was also damaged after being struck by the vehicle.

According to the Tupi Municipal Police Station, the pickup truck came from General Santos City and was heading to Koronadal City before the crash happened.

Investigators said the 63-year-old driver, who is a resident of Cotabato City, allegedly fell asleep while driving. Because of this, he supposedly lost control of the steering wheel and went straight into the fruit stand.
