Danmark Masongsong, an OFW and grieving father, has opened up about the final moments he shared with his daughter before the tragic incident at NAIA Terminal 1 that claimed her life.
In a nearly three-minute video interview posted by ABS-CBN News, Masongsong was asked by a woman off-camera, "Sir, paano po kayo nagpaalamanan nung Linggo na yun?" The question brought him back to those final minutes before the tragedy struck that morning on Sunday, May 4.

"Ang sabi ko po sa kanya eh na mahal na mahal ko siya, na mag-aral siya mabuti kasi matalino po siya eh. Napakatalino pong bata nun. Tas niyakap ko po siya," Masongsong told the local media.
His deep affection for his daughter was evident in how he described her as a bright and loving child with a promising future because of how smart she was, given her performance at school.

In the same video clip, Masongsong shared how his daughter had actually tried to run back to him after they said goodbye as well, "Humabol pa po nga siya kaso bawal na po kasing pumasok."
According to Inquirer's official report, the tragedy unfolded when a black SUV rammed into the entrance of the departure area at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1.
The black vehicle was later identified by the police as being driven by a certain Leo Gonzales.
In the wake of the accident, his wife, Cynthia, was also critically injured and remains hospitalized.
The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), in a statement reported by GMA News, pledged their support and assistance to Masongsong and his family during this difficult time of mourning.
"We likewise fervently pray for the fast recovery of his wife, who was also run over and is hospitalized in critical condition. We also ask for prayers of healing and safety to those affected by this very unfortunate incident," the agency stated.
