A 27-year-old woman died after an SUV hit her and her husband while they were walking along General Maxilom Avenue in Barangay Kogon Ramos, Cebu City.

According to a report by GMA Regional TV featured on Unang Balita, the couple was walking along the side of the road in the early morning when the SUV suddenly approached from behind.
CCTV footage captured the moment the vehicle struck the couple before leaving the area.
The woman's husband managed to stand and tried to chase the SUV, but he couldn't catch it. The victim was rushed to a hospital for treatment. However, she later died from the injuries she sustained.

Her husband expressed his frustration over the driver's actions after the collision. He said that if the driver had stopped to check on them or provide help, the situation could have been different.
He also recalled that the SUV's wheel ran over his wife's chest before the vehicle drove away.
Meanwhile, police conducted a follow-up operation to locate the driver. Authorities eventually traced the SUV and placed him under police custody.
Police said the driver underwent a breath analyzer test and tested positive for alcohol.
Authorities also said the driver reportedly told them that he may have fallen asleep while driving before the crash. The driver's account was included in the police report as authorities continued looking into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The victim's husband has expressed his intention to file a complaint in connection with his wife's death.

Meanwhile, an unidentified man fled after emergency alarms sounded while he was allegedly trying to enter a house in Barangay San Roque, Angono, Rizal. The incident happened shortly after 1 a.m. on Wednesday, according to a report by EJ Gomez on GMA’s Unang Balita. CCTV footage showed a man wearing a cap climbing the stairs leading to the house. He stood near the gate and appeared ready to open it when an alarm suddenly went off.
