A man accused of stealing a motorcycle in Sampaloc, Manila, was arrested after its owner discovered that the vehicle's dismantled parts were being offered for sale online.

According to a report by Von Aquino on GMA's 24 Oras Weekend, the suspect was arrested at his home in Concepcion, Tarlac, on September 17, 2026.
The incident began in the early hours of September 15 along Dimasalang Road in Sampaloc.
The man was seen tampering with a parked motorcycle. At first, he appeared to be repairing the vehicle. However, he was allegedly attempting to steal it.

The suspect forced the motorcycle's steering lock open, started the engine, and took the vehicle away.
The stolen motorcycle belonged to a security guard, who later discovered that someone was advertising some of its parts on an online marketplace.
According to the Manila Police District Anti-Carnapping Unit, the motorcycle had already been dismantled when its parts appeared online.
The owner recognized several components of his missing vehicle. This discovery became an important lead in the investigation.
Police said the security guard helped authorities trace the motorcycle parts to Tarlac.
Investigators then located the suspect in Concepcion, where he was arrested two days after the reported theft.
The man was also able to give his side following his arrest.
Speaking to GMA News, he explained that financial difficulties had pushed him to commit the alleged offense.
"Sa pangangailangan lang ho, pambayad ho ng mga bills tsaka sa kagipitan lang," he said.
The suspect also apologized to the motorcycle's owner and asked for forgiveness.
"Humihingi na lang ho ako ng pasensya sa nagawa ko. Sana mapatawad nila ako," he added.
Meanwhile, the MPD Anti-Carnapping Unit revealed that the suspect had previously faced carnapping complaints in Quezon City and Laguna.

Meanwhile, an unidentified man fled after emergency alarms sounded while he was allegedly trying to enter a house in Barangay San Roque, Angono, Rizal. The incident happened shortly after 1 a.m. on Wednesday, according to a report by EJ Gomez on GMA’s Unang Balita. CCTV footage showed a man wearing a cap climbing the stairs leading to the house. He stood near the gate and appeared ready to open it when an alarm suddenly went off.
