A store vendor in Taguig City lost her necklace worth nearly P500,000 after a man pretending to be a customer suddenly snatched it and escaped on a motorcycle.

The incident happened on the morning of September 13 in Barangay Lower Bicutan, Taguig City.
According to a report by Jhomer Apresto on GMA's 24 Oras Weekend, the suspect was standing outside the victim's store before approaching her to buy cigarettes.
The woman went to get the cigarettes for the man, who was wearing a helmet.

However, while she was attending to his request, the suspect suddenly grabbed her necklace.
He immediately ran toward a waiting motorcycle and escaped with his companion.
The victim recalled that she was bending down to get the cigarettes when the man suddenly grabbed her.
"Nakatungo ako eh, na ganyan. Hinuhugot ko yung sigarilyo. Eh hindi ko pa nahuhugot eh. Dinakmaan akong ganyan eh," she said.
She also shared that the suspect's companion had kept the motorcycle running while the incident was taking place.
"May kasama siya. Hindi niya pinatay yung motor eh," the vendor added.
Aside from its expensive price, the necklace was particularly valuable to the woman because of its sentimental meaning.
According to the victim, the piece of jewelry had been passed down to her when she was born. She had kept it for more than 40 years.
She explained that she happened to be wearing the necklace that morning because she was preparing to go out.
The woman estimated that the stolen jewelry was worth nearly half a million pesos, particularly because of its diamonds.
"Mga half million, sir, kasi sa diamond na lang eh, talagang kikita na siya eh. Puro diamond 'yun eh," she explained.
Meanwhile, authorities have begun investigating the incident and searching for the individuals involved.
The report revealed that the CCTV cameras near the victim's store were not working at the time of the incident.
This meant that the cameras in that particular area were unable to provide footage of the snatching.
Despite this, authorities have already identified one of the suspects, who is reportedly a resident of the area.
Police officers from Sub-Station 12 visited the suspect's reported location as part of their investigation. However, the man was no longer there when the officers arrived.

He stood near the gate and appeared ready to open it when an alarm suddenly went off.
