During an interview with Julius Babao for his “Unplugged” YouTube channel, Coco and Julia Montes opened up about the pressures behind their careers and the responsibilities they now share. Their conversation revealed that Coco’s determination to keep working is not simply about personal ambition but also about the people whose livelihoods are connected to their production.

Coco acknowledged that the workload has taken a toll on him. As an actor, director, producer, and creative head, he has been involved in several aspects of the business, including signing checks and overseeing creative decisions.

The responsibilities have also pushed Julia to become more involved behind the scenes. She has taken charge of Coco’s finances, while also learning how to help lessen the burden he carries.

Julia also recalled how different their situation was before. When Coco would come home exhausted, she could only listen and pray for him because she felt unable to directly help with his workload.

Julia remains concerned about Coco’s health, particularly because he tends to continue working even during his supposed days off. She said she often reminds him that his health could become an even bigger problem if he pushes himself too far.

After “Batang Quiapo,” the pair eventually took a five-day break and traveled to Spain before proceeding to Singapore for a general check-up. Coco was reportedly healthy after the medical examination.

Coco also admitted that working in the entertainment industry and production business is far from easy. Still, he said the experience has strengthened their relationship as they learned to handle the growing responsibilities together.

The interview also touched on the increasingly familiar dynamic surrounding Coco and Julia, particularly after Julius mentioned the terms “mag-asawa” and “marriage” during their conversation. Neither Coco nor Julia corrected the remarks, while the widow of indie actor King Reyes also referred to them as “mag-asawa” when thanking them for their help.

Their onscreen storyline in “Sigabo” has likewise added another layer to the discussion, with Coco’s character claiming to be Julia’s husband while hiding in their home from enemies led by Ronwaldo Martin.
