Kapamilya Primetime King Coco Martin has once again addressed long-standing speculation about his possible entry into politics, firmly stating that it is not something he sees for himself.

During the contract signing event of Coco and Julia Montes with Regasco, the actor clarified his stance and explained why he continues to turn down political invitations.
“No. Matagal na matagal na iyan. Almost every election palagi ako tatanungin niyan. Paulit-ulit na sinabi ko na, honestly, wala ako interes kasi nakita ko kung gaano kahirap. Mayroon naman tayo talagang matitinong politicians pero napakahirap ng sitwasyon,” Coco said.
Despite acknowledging the efforts of public servants, Coco stressed that he believes he can still contribute to society without taking on a government role. He emphasized that even small acts of help done privately are enough for him.

“Sa sitwasyon ko ngayon, kung nakakatulong naman ako kahit kaunti sa ating mga kapwa Pilipino, kahit sa sarili kong pamamaraan, okay na ako doon. Kaysa ang gawin ko is ilagay ko yung sarili ko doon and after that syempre iba iba ang intensyon sayo ng tao eh. Depende kung maappreciate nila ginagawa mo or sisirain ka nila,” he added.
He further explained his preference for a quieter life, saying he and his partner choose to stay away from unnecessary attention.
“Sabi ko nga na mas better na ito na tahimik kami bilang magpartner and then tahimik ako sa trabaho ko kasi sabi ko nga sa simpleng pamamaraan mas nakakatulong tayo sa mas maraming Pilipino.”
Beyond politics, Coco also shared a personal revelation about endorsements. During a media Q&A, he disclosed that he once received a g*mbling endorsement offer, which he refused.
“May kumuha sa akin na gusto ako magendorse ng g*mbling. Sabi ko, hindi ako magsasalita tungkol doon pero kasi hindi ko kasi pananaw sa buhay iyon kasi sabi ko na nagsimula ako sa pinakamababa hanggang umabot ako rito,” he said.
Coco emphasized that his decisions are rooted in principle, stressing that protecting his dignity and name remains his top priority as someone trusted by the public.
“Parang hindi ko kaya iyon,” he said.
He reiterated that he prefers to stay grounded, avoid excess, and continue working with integrity in everything he does.
Coco Martin initially rose to prominence as the "Prince of Philippine Independent Films," earning critical acclaim and early "Best Actor" awards for his raw performances in standard-setting indie cinema. He successfully transitioned into mainstream commercial superstardom, becoming one of the 21st century's most awarded and highest-grossing box-office entities in the Philippines.
In another report, Coco Martin has officially become a member of AKTOR, the League of Filipino Actors, marking a new milestone in his career. The confirmation was made through a social media post by Charo Santos, which also featured Coco alongside fellow actor Dingdong Dantes. According to Santos, Martin was personally invited during a private meeting held at her home last September.
Meanwhile, Coco Martin opened up about his long-term relationship with Julia Montes, revealing that privacy has played a key role in keeping their bond strong for more than a decade. The actor shared that Julia is deeply involved in his daily life, including taking care of his meals and personal needs, which he said reflects their close partnership.
