Coco Martin opened up about why his relationship with longtime partner Julia Montes continues to grow stronger despite being together for more than a decade.

In a brief interview uploaded on his official YouTube channel, the actor spoke candidly about the foundation of their relationship and how their private lifestyle helped them maintain a solid connection away from public scrutiny.

According to Coco, keeping their relationship away from unnecessary attention became one of the major reasons they lasted this long as a couple.

“Isa rin siguro sa mga sikreto namin kung bakit kami tumagal, sabi ko nga, pribado kasi kami talaga eh–– napaka-private namin as a partner [and] bilang tao din. Sabi ko nga, kung ano man ‘yung kinukuwento namin, kinukuwento nalang namin kasi past na. Alam mo yung’ masarap nalang balikan,” he explained.

The actor also described how they function as a team in their everyday lives, even outside showbiz commitments. Coco shared that Julia has been very hands-on when it comes to taking care of him, especially during busy work schedules.

“Sa amin naman ngayon, ganun din. In all aspects talaga, si Juls lahat ang nag-aasikaso sa akin. Siya nag-aalaga sa akin. Mula pagkagising hanggang pagkauwi ko, sa lahat ng kakainin ko, sa lahat ng mga damit na isusuot ko, siya talaga–– siya lahat nag-aayos,” he said.

Coco added that their partnership became deeper over time because they learned to help each other through everything. He emphasized that their relationship goes beyond romance since they also treat each other as friends and business partners.

“Kaya masarap ‘yung partnership namin dahil higit sa pagiging magkaibigan, magkarelasyon, business partners, talagang pinagtibay namin ‘yung relasyon namin. Sabi ko nga, wala namang ibang magtutulungan kung hindi kami,” he confessed.
