As the new academic year draws closer, Yasmien Kurdi gave fans a glimpse into her life as a law student through a reflective social media post where she shared her preparation routine and emotional milestones after completing her first year in law school.

In her post, Yasmien revealed that she is currently decluttering her collection of law books to make space for the next semester’s materials. She also expressed disbelief at how much she has accomplished in her studies so far.
“Dahil malapit na rin ang pasukan ko (less than a month nalang). Decluttering time! 📚 Para may space na sa mga susunod pang books next sem. 😅” she wrote.

She added that she had managed to read most of her books from cover to cover, with only a few exceptions for codals she plans to study next.

“Hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala na nabasa ko lahat ng ito from cover to cover (except sa codals ng Rules of Court at Civil Code, kasi sila naman ang mga susunod kong aaralin).”
Yasmien also admitted that she is not naturally a book lover, but law school changed her perspective on reading and discipline.
“Hindi naman talaga ako bookworm, pero sa law school, mapipilitan kang mahalin ang pagbabasa.”
She went on to acknowledge the authors whose works became her constant companions throughout her first year, expressing deep appreciation for their clarity and guidance in understanding complex legal concepts.
“For the past year, naging constant companions ko ang mga libro nina Fr. Bernas, Reyes, at De Leon. Maraming salamat sa mga aklat na ginawa ninyo. Hindi ko alam kung paano ko masu-survive ang law school kung wala ang malinaw na paliwanag sa batas.”
Yasmien also shared a glimpse of her study habits, revealing that her books were filled with post-it notes used for recitations and exams.
She then listed her academic experiences, noting that Criminal Law was her favorite subject during first year, while Oblicon stood out as the most challenging subject she faced.
