In a social media post, Wency explained that a friend had asked him about his opinion of Robin, prompting him to share what he personally observed while they were working together.
Wency began by acknowledging that he had the opportunity to work with Padilla during the previous election season. Rather than focusing on the senator’s celebrity background or political image, the singer highlighted what he described as one of Padilla’s most noticeable qualities.
“A friend asked me yesterday what I thought about Robin P. and I need to preface by saying that I have had the privilege of working with Senator Binoe during the last elections,” Wency wrote.

According to Wency, the quality that stood out most to him was Padilla’s sincerity.
“I can attest that the most striking quality I saw in him as a politician is something very un-politician like. He exudes sincerity.”
Wency’s description presented Padilla as someone he believes does not fit the stereotypical image of a politician. Based on his own experience, he saw the senator as genuine and straightforward rather than someone who simply projects a carefully crafted political persona.
The singer also addressed criticism directed toward Padilla. Without identifying specific individuals or groups, Wency referred to what he called attempts to damage the senator’s reputation.
“Some quarters may try to put him down by character assassination but they will not succeed.”
Wency further expressed his belief that Padilla’s perceived authenticity and connection with ordinary people would continue to work in his favor.
“He is just too real and extremely relatable that the masses, regardless of the ongoing smear tactics, will still be behind him all the way.”
Padilla, who built his career in Philippine cinema before entering politics, remains one of the country’s most recognizable celebrity-turned-politicians. His transition from entertainment to public service has also kept him in the public spotlight, where his political statements and positions frequently generate discussion.
Robin Padilla is a Filipino actor, filmmaker, and politician who became a major name in Philippine cinema after being known as the “Bad Boy” of the industry. He starred in popular films including “Anak ni Baby Ama” and “Bad Boy,” helping establish his reputation as one of the country’s prominent action stars. He later entered public service and won the 2022 Philippine Senate race with the highest number of votes. Padilla currently serves as a Philippine senator and chairs the Senate Committee on Cultural Communities and Muslim Affairs.
Senator Robin Padilla previously celebrated his 16th wedding anniversary with his wife, Mariel Padilla, through a touching message posted online. The couple marked the occasion even though they were physically apart, with Robin sharing a glimpse of their video call. Looking back on their marriage, he acknowledged the difficulties they had encountered while expressing gratitude for the relationship and love that continued to grow between them. He also thanked Allah for the blessings and direction he had received throughout their married life.
Robin Padilla’s wife Mariel Padilla earlier opened up about how reaching her 40s changed the way she views friendship. Rather than wanting a wide social circle, the television personality said she has learned to appreciate a smaller group made up of people who have remained genuine and present through different periods of her life. She described these trusted friends as those with whom she can freely laugh, cry, and be herself, while still being able to reconnect naturally even after spending considerable time apart. Although the number of people in her circle has decreased, Mariel said the relationships that remained have given her a greater sense of fulfillment and made her feel that her heart is fuller.
