Padilla made the remark during an ambush interview with members of the media, including CinemaBravo, at the advance screening of his comeback action film, Bad Boy 3.
The actor was asked whether the “Bad Boy” label that has followed him throughout his entertainment career also describes his role as a senator.
The question came shortly after discussions surrounding a Senate hearing involving Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla attracted public attention.

When asked about being a “Bad Boy” in politics, Padilla explained that the title should be reserved for corrupt public officials.
“Ang Bad Boy sa politika kasi. 'yan yung mga korap,” said Padilla.
“'Yan, eh, hindi ako Bad Boy sa politika. Ako'y very Good Boy sa politika, kaya nga ang sabi nila, lagi akong maximum tolerance,” he added.
Apart from discussing politics, Padilla also shared his thoughts on the differences between public service and the entertainment industry. According to him, working in showbiz remains far more enjoyable than engaging in politics.
“Sa totoo lang po, mas masaya po sa showbiz kaysa politika,” he said.
“Malayong-malayo po. Iba nag ligaya po sa shooting.”
“Iba talaga itsura ko 'pag politika. Pag politika, talagang dala mo 'yong problema ng bayan, iba yung bigat. Showbiz, masarap eh. Kasi nag-e-entertain kayo ng tao, masaya 'yong tao,” he added.
The actor-senator also hinted at the future of the Bad Boy franchise. He said that if a fourth installment is eventually produced, he may pass the torch to his nephew, Daniel Padilla. The idea was reportedly supported by his brother Rommel Padilla, who is Daniel’s father.
For now, Padilla remains focused on promoting his latest movie while continuing to serve in the Senate, where he insists he is far from being a political “Bad Boy.”
Robin hood Ferdinand Cariño Padilla, widely known as the "Bad Boy" of Philippine cinema, is a prominent Filipino action actor, director, and television personality. Transitioning into public service, he topped the 2022 senatorial race and currently serves as a Senator of the Philippines.
