Recently, the phrase “Gloria Diaz curse” went trending online after posing a question to one of the contestants in the recently-held Binibining Pilipinas pageant.

Candidate No. 13, Ms. Roella Frias Solis, who represented Bulacan, was the one who answered the question.

“What physical asset do you have that should make you win?” Ms. Gloria asked.

Roella then answered with confidence about presenting the best version of herself in the recently-held beauty pageant.

“As a beauty queen and as a woman of vision, I am here to present you the best version of myself despite having a pivotal loss,” Roella said.

She then talked about the recent death of her grandmother.

“She has the best seat in heaven, watching me over. Thank you!” Bb Pilipinas Candidate 13 said.

The 1969 Ms Universe then appeared to give the candidate a second chance in answering the question.

“But what physical asset do you have,” Gloria asked again.

“One physical asset I have is I am beautiful. Aside from that, I have a mission and vision in life that makes me apart from the other candidates. Thank you,” Roella answered.

In her interview with TV Patrol, the 1969 corrected the notion that she asks difficult questions as her recent question was very easy, according to Ms. Gloria.

“Mahirap ba ‘ yon? Ang dali dali lang ng tanong,” she answered.

Gloria Maria Aspillera Diaz is a Filipino actress, model and beauty queen. She is the first Filipino to win the Miss Universe title in 1969. She is the mother of actress Isabelle Daza.

It can be recalled that the Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz's name is currently trending all over social media. During the Binibining Pilipinas 2024 coronation night, the actress-beauty queen asked a candidate about the physical asset she has that should make her win the pageant. Gloria, who seemed not satisfied with the candidate's answer, helped the latter redeem herself by giving her another chance to answer the question. Following the said Q&A moment, "Gloria Diaz curse" became a trending topic online.

Last May, Gloria's daughter, actress and model Isabelle Daza, took to Instagram and shared two cute and funny videos of her mother. In the first video, the former Miss Universe could be seen trying to get her grandchildren to behave and listen. Despite the raucous, she was still smiling and could not bring herself to get mad. In the second video, Belle joked that her mother would turn into a "manananggal" whenever she would be the one who would not listen to her mom.
