Mayor Albee Benitez, in a statement released recently to the media and on his official Facebook account, has addressed talks linking him to a famous celebrity.

It can be recalled that the name of the Bacolod City Mayor has been linked to the said famous celebrity after rumors about them being seen abroad together surfaced online.
Mayor Albee, a known film and TV producer, did not identify in his statement the famous celebrity who is being linked to him, although the alleged name of the person has already cropped up in various social media circles.
In his statement, he kindly requested everyone for their “understanding and respect for privacy” in order to protect the “innocent parties involved.”

“As for recent personal matters I kindly request understanding and respect for privacy to shield all innocent parties involved,” Mayor Albee said in his official statement on the matter.
He then clarified that in his private capacity as a producer, it is normal for him to have professional interaction with several other known celebrities.
“In my private capacity as a film and TV program producer my professional interaction with various celebrities is inherent to the nature of the business,” the local Chief Executive said.
Mayor Albee then reiterated that his main focus is the interest of the city where he is the mayor.
“At this moment my primary focus is on safeguarding the interests of Bacolod City,” Mayor Albee concluded.
The Bacolod Chief Executive, before getting elected as Mayor, used to be the Congressman of the 3rd District of Negros Occidental, a position now occupied by his brother and has been known to be one of the richest congressmen in the Philippines.
The billionaire Bacolod City Mayor is the father of Victorias City Mayor Javi Benitez, the boyfriend of actress Sue Ramirez.
Mayor Alfredo Abelardo "Albee" Bantug Benitez currently sits as the Bacolod City's local chief executive after he won in the 2022 local elections. Before running for Bacolod city mayor, he served for three consecutive terms as the representative of the 3rd District of Negros Occidental. A billionaire, he was once touted as the richest congressman in the Philippines and is the owner of Brightlight Productions, producer of Lunch Out Loud.

In her statement sent to media by the couple’s son, Victorias City Mayor Javi Benitez, Nikki said there have been no discussions about separation or annulment with her husband. She stressed that she and Albee have been living under one roof for 31 years and maintaining their family’s unity. Nikki’s statement came after quotes attributed to him in the media, “suggesting romantic links with a vlogger and several actresses,” surfaced.
Meanwhile, in a previous post, veteran showbiz columnist Manay Lolit Solis issued an apology to Mayor Albee after suggesting to the latter to stop producing the defunct TV5 noontime program, “Lunch Out Loud.” It can be recalled that the showbiz columnist spoke against the show after then LOL host Jeffrey Tam got badly injured due to a prank that his then co-host Billy Crawford pulled on him. The showbiz writer admitted that she did not take into consideration the people who would lose their jobs if the show was canceled because of her statement. Nevertheless, she still advised the hosts of the show to stop pulling off dangerous pranks so that they would not receive criticism.
