Dingdong Dantes gave his own take on the program, Presidential Interviews, which was aired on January 22 and hosted by multi-awarded journalist, Jessica Soho.
The guests of the Presidential Interview were Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, Senator Manny Pacquiao, Senator Ping Lacson, and Vice President Leni Robredo.
Former senator and Ilocos governor Bongbong Marcos was also invited but declined, claiming that Soho is “biased against the Marcoses.”
According to Dingdong, the interview of presidential bets underscored the importance of responsible journalism.

“Last night’s Presidential interview highlighted how responsible journalism can help shape perspectives & present reality,” Dingdong said.
He also admired how the questions started simply and progressed into queries that examined the many issues confronting the country.
“It started with candidness and evolved into an in-depth scrutiny of complex issues that were made simpler and easier to digest for Filipinos. Diretso sa punto. Walang paligoy-ligoy. It didn’t fail to layout the real situation of our country: from Climate Change…to poverty & corruption…to our COVID response,” Dingdong said.
He also commended how the program revealed who among the candidates have solid plans for the present and future.
“It was also a much needed forum to level off the playing field as it put out hard but very important questions for our presidential hopefuls. Lumitaw ‘yung may plano. Naging obvious kung sino ang pasok sa iyong kasalukuyang hinahanap,” the actor said.
Dingdong also advised that while waiting for the elections, Filipinos should never stop looking for “helpful and valid resources” like what the Presidential Interview delivered.
He then said that the program is a good example of “how it should be done.”
