Director ‘Direk’ Bobet Vidanes has been under the spotlight once again after he broke his silence about his resignation from ABS-CBN.
On Thursday, October 21, KAMI learned that Ogie Diaz and Mama Loi talked about the series of controversies the director is currently involved in.
Previously, there were rumors that ‘Direk’ Bobet was unaware of Kim Chiu becoming a mainstay host on It’s Showtime.

In their latest showbiz update vlog, Ogie and Loi tackled the controversial matter surrounding ‘Direk’ Bobet’s statement on Lunch Out Loud.

“Eh si Direk Bobet diba, nagsalita, hindi raw siya aware na may bago palang mainstay o magiging regular na host doon. At ang pinatutungkulan nga eh si Kim Chiu,” Ogie began.
According to Ogie, he managed to talk to someone from It’s Showtime, which he did not name, regarding the issue.
“Meron naman isang taga-Showtime na nakausap natin at naka-PM natin, sinabi niya rito, ayaw niyang magpabanggit ng pangalan pero kilala ko. Nakita ko lang na may sinabi pala siyang hindi siya ininform na papasok si Kim Chiu.”
During the showbiz update vlog, Ogie’s source mentioned that they were present during the Zoom meeting where they briefed ‘Direk’ Bobet about Kim and the other segments.
Ogie then shared what his source messaged to him about the Zoom meeting they had with the director.
“’Yung presentation na yan, nandiyan ako sa Zoom kaya alam ko. Naiinis lang ako kasi kami pa pinalalabas na masama after one year ng pag-alis niya.’ Sabi niya rito, ‘Napakasinungaling ng direktor na yan. Pinresent sa kanya na naka-Powerpoint pa sa Zoom meeting na papasok as new host si Kim Chiu kasabay ng mga new segments na ila-launch. Nasa garahe pa siya nung bahay niya nung prinesent ito, naka-white sando pa siya at nagwa-wine. So paanong hindi niya alam ang pagpasok ni Kim Chiu? Wag ako, direk.’ May ganyan.”

Bobet Vidanes or Direk Bobet is a prominent director in the country popular for his shows under ABS-CBN Network like "Pilipinas, Game KNB?", and "It's Showtime". In 2020, however, the director stunned Kapamilya fans when he left ABS-CBN and his noontime show for good.

On the latest episode of “Lunch Out Loud,” the director was greeted happy birthday by the hosts of the show. As he gave his thank you message to them, Director Bobet could not help but look back at times he spent in ABS-CBN.
Meanwhile, Director ‘Direk’ Bobet Vidanes has recently clarified the controversy surrounding his departure from the Kapamilya network. According to Direk Bobet, he was not removed from ABS-CBN or “It’s Showtime.”
