“Last July was a rough season for me personally. There were a lot of things happening in my life, and honestly, I found myself becoming impatient especially with my family,” he wrote.

For Yambao, the experience became a reminder that people can sometimes convince themselves that they are capable of handling every problem independently. However, his faith led him to a different realization.

“Sometimes, we think we’re strong enough to handle everything on our own. But the truth is, God never designed us to walk alone,” he said.

A significant part of his reflection centered on Pastor Dan, whom Yambao described as both a mentor and a father figure in his life.

He expressed gratitude for having someone who could speak honestly with him, listen without judgment, pray alongside him, and help him return his attention to what truly matters.

“I’m grateful for having a mentor and a father figure like Pastor Dan who can speak truth into my life, listen without judgment, pray with me, and remind me of what really matters,” Yambao shared.

During a trip with Pastor Dan, Yambao said they were able to spend time processing what he had been experiencing. The conversation eventually became an emotional moment for him.

According to Yambao, Pastor Dan prayed for him, and afterward, the two shared an embrace that lasted approximately three minutes.

“That hug lasted for a good three minutes and I just started crying like a baby,” he recalled.

Rather than viewing his tears as a sign of weakness, Yambao described them as a relief. The experience allowed him to acknowledge that he did not need to maintain the appearance that everything was under control.

“But those tears were a relief,” he wrote.

Yambao said that, in that moment, he realized someone understood what he was going through and was willing to accompany him through it. He also appreciated being reminded of God’s truth when his emotions were beginning to overwhelm his perspective.

“Because in that moment, I realized I didn’t have to pretend that I had everything together. Someone understood me. Someone was willing to walk with me. Someone reminded me of God’s truth when my emotions were getting the better of me,” he said.

The experience also prompted Yambao to reflect on the importance of accountability and spiritual mentorship, particularly for men.

“Every man needs someone who can ask the hard questions, speak God’s Word into his life, pray with him, and simply be there,” he wrote.

He emphasized that having people who can offer wisdom and accountability can make an important difference. He also described the role of a spiritual father as extending beyond simply giving advice.

“Someone gives wisdom. Being accountable. A spiritual father gives guidance, grace, and a safe place to be real,” Yambao said.

His post ultimately became a reflection on gratitude. Yambao said he was thankful that God had placed people in his life who could support him during moments when he needed help.

“I’m thankful God placed people in my life,” he wrote.

The experience also left him with a lesson that he said he never wants to forget: people do not have to face difficult seasons alone.

“And this reminded me of something I never want to forget:
You don’t have to walk alone. And sometimes, the strongest thing you can do is let someone walk with you,” he shared.

Yambao ended his message by directly thanking Pastor Dan for being present during a vulnerable chapter of his life.

“Thank you, Pastor Dan, for being there not just to preach to me, but to walk with me,” he wrote.

Yambao chose to talk openly about vulnerability, emotional pressure, faith, and the value of having trusted people who can provide support and accountability.
