The Kapuso actress and model recently shared a photo showing the severe hair loss she experienced, along with a candid reflection about how alopecia affected her confidence, career, relationships, and daily life.
Kelley said she had gone back and forth about whether to make the photo public before ultimately deciding to share it.
“It’s Alopecia Awareness Month, and I’ve gone back and forth on posting this,” she wrote.

She revealed that she first experienced significant hair loss in 2018, when she was 22 years old.
“In 2018, I lost a quarter of my hair. This is the first time I’m sharing a photo publicly,” Kelley said.
For someone who had grown up with naturally long and thick hair, the sudden change was particularly difficult.
“I grew up with long, thick hair. It was the onky thing about myself I never had to worry about… at 22, I lost a quarter of my hair,” she shared.
Kelley said she initially chose to hide the condition, including from people who were close to her.
“I hid it for a long time, even from people close to me. I thought if nobody saw it, I woudn’t have to deal with it,” she recalled.
However, keeping the problem hidden eventually became exhausting.
“But hiding it everyday was exhausting,” she wrote.
The actress said her alopecia affected how she approached both her professional and personal life. She revealed that she stayed home, declined work opportunities, and made excuses to avoid social plans because she did not want people to see her.
“I hid at home, turned down jobs and made excuses to skip plans. From the outside it looked like I was just busy. Really, I didn’t want to be seen,” Kelley said.
Her reflection shows how the condition became about much more than hair loss. It affected her willingness to appear in public and participate in everyday activities.
Eventually, however, Kelley reached a point where she decided that avoiding the condition was no longer the way she wanted to live.
“Until one day, I decided to stop avoiding it, and instead accepting it as a part of me,” she wrote.
According to Kelley, learning to accept her condition was accompanied by years of paying closer attention to her overall well-being.
“It took six years of learning to take care of my health, my stress, and my mental health,” she shared.
She also said that slowing down became an important part of her process.
“Slowing down ended up being part of the process…” Kelley wrote.
Over time, her relationship with her appearance also changed. She said she eventually stopped constantly checking herself in the mirror and began focusing more on living her life.
“At some point, I stopped checking the mirror so much and started living more, being outside, being with people I love, letting the wind mess up my hair and actually not minding,” she said.
In her broader message, Kelley also shared some of the steps that formed part of her personal routine. She mentioned using Regroe Minoxidil and Pregroe Shampoo and Conditioner while taking care of her health, stress, and mental health.
“What got me through was years of taking care of my health, my stress, and my mental health, with regroe Minoxidil and the Pregroe Shampoo and Conditioner as part of my routine,” she wrote.
Kelley also encouraged people currently experiencing hair loss to seek professional and personal support.
“To anyone going through it right now: get the help you deserve, from a dermatologist and from the people around you,” she said.
She ended her message with a reminder that a person’s identity and worth extend beyond their physical appearance.
“You’re not alone, and you’re so much more than your hair.”
By sharing a photo she had kept private since experiencing significant hair loss, Kelley has offered followers a more vulnerable look at a chapter of her life that she previously struggled to discuss openly.
Her message also emphasized that acceptance did not happen overnight. Kelley described a six-year process involving changes in how she cared for herself, handled stress, viewed her appearance, and allowed herself to participate in life without constantly worrying about whether others would notice her hair.
