Charlie Dizon made sure to fulfill her mother’s wish for her to finish her education before fully pursuing a career in Philippine show business.

In an interview on Ganiel Krishnan’s show "Oh My Gan!" posted Wednesday, August 19, Charlie talked about completing a degree in Human Resource Management at De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde. She recalled that her mother wanted her to prioritize earning a degree before entering the entertainment industry.

Explaining her mother’s condition at the time, Charlie said that she had to finish her studies before pursuing acting.

“Kailangan magtapos ako mag-aaral. Hindi pwedeng nag-aartista,” Charlie shared, recalling her mother’s request at the time.

Charlie also understood why finishing her education was important, especially since she was not certain that she would eventually establish a successful career in show business. She said having a degree could give her a sense of stability and provide another career option if her plans in entertainment did not work out.

“Gusto ko ng stability rin sa life. So feeling ko 'yung Human Resource noon, parang kahit saang company, may Human Resource.”

Her decision to finish college eventually became part of her journey before making a name for herself in the Philippine entertainment industry. Charlie later gained recognition for her performance in the film "Fan Girl," where she earned the Best Actress award at the Metro Manila Film Festival.

Her career eventually took off, allowing her to pursue the path she had initially put on hold while fulfilling her mother’s wish to complete her education.
