“Tuwing umiiyak siya sa scene, I would cry too,” she recalled.

Her parents once noticed her crying while watching the show and playfully asked her about it.

“Hala, nganong hilak man ka? Artista ka?” they told her, which she translated as, “Hala, ba’t umiiyak ka? Artista ka ba?”

Even as a child, Manilyn apparently already had a clear dream in mind.

She remembered confidently answering her parents, “Usa ka adlaw makit-an ko ninyo dinha,” meaning, “Isang araw makikita niyo ako dyan.”

She was referring to the television and Anna Liza itself.

That childhood statement eventually became a reality.

Manilyn revealed that she later became part of the same show she had once watched from home. She played Dodit, the niece of Greg and Elvie, characters portrayed by Robert Arevalo and Marissa Delgado.

For the actress, the experience became even more memorable because she was able to work alongside Julie, the star she had admired on television.
